Kayann Ausherman and daughter, Abby, of rural central Kansas, will be the Artists in Residence at the Red Barn Studio Museum, 212 S. Main St., Lindsborg, Tuesday, June 11th thru Sunday, 16th. On Saturday June 15, the Red Barn Studio will host a Stamp Carving workshop from 9AM – noon and a Fiber Art and Printmaking workshop, 1-4PM taught by the Aushermans.
During the Stamp Carving workshop, participants will learn techniques of stamp carving and printmaking while making stamps. We will cover different ways to use stamps including printing on fabric.
During the Fiber Art and Printmaking workshop, participants will combine printmaking and fiber art to create canvas ATCs (artist trading cards.) The Aushermans will be available during the Artwalk, Friday June 14, from 5PM to 8PM. She has attended art and graphic design courses in pursuit of an Anthropology Degree with Museum display emphasis at Kansas State University, and has attended various community college and online art classes, but she is a self-taught artist.
