Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery in Lindsborg will feature new exhibitions that open on August 25, 2019. They include Art for All: The Swedish Experience in Mid- America, artworks by pioneering Swedish-American artists; paintings by Lindsborg artist Sally Johnson; Variable Threads, mixed-media works by Roberta Eichenberg from Emporia, The Stories They Told, woodcarvings from the collection of the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and The Stories Continue: Lindsborg Carvers. The new exhibitions open Sunday, August 25, 2019, with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m., and gallery talks beginning at 2:30. The exhibitions will continue through October 20, 2019.
The Sandzén Gallery is located at 401 North First Street in Lindsborg and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The Gallery is closed on Mondays. Admission is free, with donations appreciated. Docent tours for groups are available by two-week advance appointment.
