Self-taught photographer Mark Otey depicts the past and present of Salina through its unique neon signage. Inspired by film noir, a world lit by neon lights as shady characters make their way down dark streets, Otey’s images search to illuminate these scenes in our own city. Neon-advertising cuts through the darkness and continues to influence his ongoing collection of neon sign photographs.
