WILD THINGS: A YEAR ON THE FRONTLINE OF ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISM (M)
Wild Things spends a year on the frontline with environmental activists hell-bent on saving their futures from the ravages of climate change.
Armed only with mobiles phones, this growing army of eco-warriors are mobilising against forces more powerful than themselves and saying, enough. From chaining themselves to coal trains, sitting high in the canopy of threatened rainforest or locking onto bulldozers, their non-violent tactics are designed to generate mass action with one finger tap. Against a backdrop of drought, fire and floods; we witness how today’s environmentalists are making a difference. Surprisingly the methods of old still have currency when a groundswell of school kids inspired by the actions of 16-year old Swedish student Greta Thunberg say, ‘change is coming’ and call a national strike demanding action against global warming.

ART ON SCREEN: FELLINI OF THE SPIRITS
A conclusive documentary film on the Italian maestro to celebrate the centennial of his birth.
Profoundly in love with life, Fellini went through his existence always seeking its meaning. To mark the centennial of his birth – 20th January 1920 – this documentary investigates in depth his passion for what he defined as “mystery”, the esoteric, the unseen world in a relentless pursuit of other possibilities, other dimensions, other travels and of everything that can make spirit and mind fly.
These aspects, present throughout all his filmography, have been subject of investigation by the great Jungian psychoanalyst Ernst Bernhard, who not only unveiled him the secrets of the subconscious, but also showed him a whole new vision of the world.
A lot of voices speak about the magical world of Fellini, from the tarot read that Fellini always consulted to Terry Gilliam (Oscar nominee for Brazil), from Fellini’s collaborators and dearest friends to Oscar-winning directors such as William Friedkin (The French Connection, The Exorcist) and Damien Chazelle (La La Land, First Man).
Thanks to extraordinary materials from Rai Teche and Isitituto Luce archives, as well as international archive contents, images from his movies and interviews to the intellectuals that most studied his work, Fellini of the Spirits is an unprecedented, intimate and spiritual portrait of one of the cinemas greatest directors.
