Janet Grove bio
Building on her experience and knowledge from years spent in corporate development and legal roles within industry, Janet Grove helps clients in the technology and health sciences sectors – IT, health sciences, telecommunications and clean-tech. She is sought out for her expertise and business approach to structuring and negotiating both merger and acquisition transactions and complex commercial relationships to develop, commercialize and acquire technology. This includes assisting with a variety of research and development, supply and licensing arrangements and developing and advising on novel programs and collaborations involving technology.

Karima Bawa bio
Karima Bawa is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation. Also, she is a Technical Committee Expert (IP Management Standard Committee (ISO 5050)), a member of the Board of Directors for the College of Patent Agents and Trademark Agents and the Board of Directors for Sierra Wireless. She is the former general counsel and chief legal officer for Research In Motion Limited (now BlackBerry) where she oversaw a global legal team and managed the global legal function and the company's vast IP portfolio. In addition to her work at CIGI and on various boards, she is also involved with advising and supporting technology start-ups and is the founder and CEO of her own technology startup. Karima holds a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Law, and a Masters in Business Administration
Jackie Cooper bio
Jackie Cooper has had a distinguished career as a leader in the technology and telecommunications sectors. She is the co-founder and chief commercial officer of 3D Bridge Solutions Inc., creator of AlthaRx, a medication platform focused on supporting safe dosing and supply for the aging and at-risk populations.
Previously, Jackie was the Chief Revenue Officer of Interaxon Inc., where she was responsible for overseeing the company’s sales channels, marketing function, growth, and customer service. During Jackie’s tenure at Interaxon, she was instrumental in the company’s expansion into a multi-million dollar business with over 50 employees, the launch of the first consumer EEG (electroencephalography) platform for brain health, and the development of global licensing partnerships.
A commercialization expert and experienced global business leader, Jackie’s career has taken her around the world doing business in over 175 countries with high profile brands, including BlackBerry, Thomson Reuters, and SYNNEX. Jackie has deep experience enabling business transformation and establishing innovative strategies for global growth. She is known for her passion for attracting and mobilizing distributed teams to deliver breakthrough results.
