Description

Blazing the trail of data encryption, Navajo "code talkers" were enlisted by the US Marines to pass messages along the airwaves during World War II in such a way that the Japanese couldn't decipher.

While the Navajo weren’t the first Native Americans to assist the government in code talking, August 14th is the day that the 400+ Navajos that went to war on behalf of the United States in WWII are recognized for their priceless encoded contributions.
