Rock Creek Conservancy
Join Rock Creek Conservancy, National Park Service, and DC Taekwondo as Brian Wright -a Stream Team Leader and DC Taekwondo Instructor- guides volunteers in a trash cleanup & hike around Rapids Bridge.
Rock Creek is a 33-mile stream that stretches from Laytonsville, MD and flows through Montgomery County and Washington, DC eventually letting out into the Potomac River.
Trash is one of the biggest issues plaguing this urban oasis.
We invite you to join Rock Creek Conservancy to keep this section of Rock Creek clean. We hope to see you there!
You MUST register for this event: see registration link above
Volunteer Activity: Volunteers will help clean trash and litter from the area around Rapids Bridge. This will be a combination trash pickup and 3-mile loop hike.

Where: Volunteers will meet in Rock Creek Park Grove 2 parking lot (Washington, DC 20008) near the intersection of Broad Branch Rd NW and Beach Dr. NW. Volunteers are encouraged to bike, carpool, or use public transportation. The site is a 20-minute walk from Van-Ness/UDC Metro Stop (Red Line).
What to Wear: Please dress appropriately for the weather. Wear sturdy boots or sneakers, no sandals. We recommend long pants and sleeves to prevent contact with poison ivy. We also encourage volunteers to wear a hat.
