Sparks K9's Polishing Classes, Real World Sessions, and Practice Sessions are the perfect opportunity for you and your dog to polish and practice the fundamental skills you have learned through our private lesson programs, group classes, Day School, or our Board & Train services.
We know that taking your freshly trained dog out into the "Real World" can be a daunting task, especially those that have been struggling with reactivity, aggression or just plain excitability. No need to worry; with a few important rules in place, a group polishing/practice session can be highly beneficial for the dog/handler team. Every dog and handler invited these sessions has gone through a mandatory minimum amount of training with our Certified Professional Dog Trainers and has been deemed ready and up to the challenge.
*No Children under the age of thirteen - (13-17 must be attended by a parent). We love children, and they can be great with dogs, but some dogs participating in the training walks may be triggered by younger children.
*One Dog Per Adult Handler - In an effort to keep things safe and sane these sessions, each handler may only handle one dog at a time.
*Respect - We fully expect every handler to respect the other dog's space, handler's techniques and methods, passersby and training environments. Many dog/handler teams will have different levels of training, confidence, & abilities, as well as be working on different skill sets with their dogs. These sessions are NOT a time to practice Nose-to-Nose Greetings between dogs. Remember to be prepared to clean up after your dog (bring your own poop bags). Handlers must show respect for the property and safety of others at ALL times.
*Non-Clients - We will consider Dog/Handler Teams that wish to join our polishing sessions on a case-by-case basis. Those wishing to participate must attend a 30-minute evaluation at our facility ($100.00 one time fee).
