Spiritual Bypassing: When Spirituality Disconnects Us from What Really Matters

During times of great stress, suffering and uncertainty many people turn to their faith, religion and spiritual practices, teachers, and philosophies to ease the pain and discomfort - and rightly so. Isn’t that a fundamental reason we embody our faith and engage in spiritual practices - for health and well-being? To live life more abundantly, with greater meaning, joy and compassion?

Sometimes though, we can engage in what’s called “Spiritual Bypassing” - spiritual ideas and practices to sidestep ‘unfinished business,’ to shore up a shaky sense of self. However, the foundation of spiritual bypassing is really avoidance, a way to rise above the shaky ground, to turn away from whatever is most uncomfortable - to be saved from the "human mess."

Join Rev. Kelly Isola in this heart-felt conversation: Spiritual Bypassing: When Spirituality Disconnects Us from What Really Matters. Discover what it is, why we do it, how to avoid it,
and instead engage in the “human mess” with greater self-compassion, groundedness and humility so we can live our lives and create a world with greater authenticity and love.
