Where have all the racers been?
This year, Coach Duer is starting things up again with Danielle Feerst, Activities Director at BYSC/BCSB, with practices for our youth racers, even leading them to travel events that are still being held, despite Covid-19!
Practices start this weekend, in combination with the opening of Fall Series. Our theme for Race Team, which is invitational only this year due to Covid-19 and skill level needed to travel, is dedication. Dedication to your teammates, dedication to building racing skills, and dedication to representing your club and city as we regrow the Beaufort Sailing Team into the powerhouse it once was!
Welcome to our team! Here is the link to participate and register. You will have received an email invitation from Coach Duer for registration (registration is capped to those invited this year).
Practices are planned to be held on Saturdays from 1pm to 4:30 pm, except our first practice at the club, this Labor Day weekend on Sunday 9/6. We will NOT have practice the weekend of the Pluff Mud Regatta, 9/12-13. The last practice of this session will be participation in the annual New Year's Day Oyster Roast and Auction as a team to raise money for Beaufort Community Sailing and Boating! The team is welcome to also practice Wednesday nights 4:30-6:30 during Open Sailing at BYSC, with respenct for members who are on the water who might not be out to race, but to enjoy the evening with friends.
The cost is $95 for the season for those sailors traveling with their own boats, and $150 for the season for those using BCSB boats. Click the link in the URL to register for Race Team!
See you racers on the water - sail fast!
