Elizabeth Hur, violin
Student Recital
Elizabeth Hur is currently a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) student at Carnegie Mellon University, studying violin performance under the guidance of Prof. William van der Sloot. Her past accomplishments include placing at various local and regional string competitions in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area, a solo performance for a Maryland public television station, and being selected as a member of the symphonic orchestra conducted by Maestro Jeffrey Grogan for the 2016 High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. Elizabeth has participated in several summer music festivals where she had the opportunity to work under many notable professors and musicians including Yehonatan Berick, Steven Copes, Sergui Schwartz, Danielle Belen, the Calidore String Quartet, and several members of the National Symphony Orchestra. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys various crafts, including wire weaving and sewing, as well as playing board games and card games with friends and family.
