The Year’s at the Spring
Isabel Valasek is a soprano based in Pittsburgh, PA. She is studying under Sari Gruber at Carnegie Mellon University, where she is pursuing a BFA in Vocal Performance, a certification in Music Education and a minor in Drama. This year, Isabel was in the chorus of a fully staged production of Considering Matthew Shepard. She also was a cover for Despina in Così fan tutte at Carnegie Mellon University.
Henry Wright is a baritone based in Pittsburgh, PA. He is studying under Jennifer Aylmer at Carnegie Mellon University, where he is pursuing a BFA in Vocal Performance and a minor in German Studies. He has participated in 14 opera, operetta, and musical theatre productions, most recently playing an officer in Opera San Jose’s production of Pagliacci. Other roles have included Tony Brockhurst in The Boy Friend and Anthony in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. This year at CMU, he will be one of the soloists portraying Matthew in a fully staged production Considering Matthew Shepard, as well as portraying Guglielmo in Così fan tutte.
