Zoë Chessa is a third-year undergraduate studying with Sari Gruber, majoring in Vocal Performance with minors in German and Linguistics. Zoë recently made her professional debut with the Pittsburgh Opera as the First Spirit/The Magic Flute (2021). In the summer of 2022, she attended the Middlebury College German for Singers program and performed the role of Clarice/Die Welt auf dem Mond. Other roles studied include covering The Maiden/Der Kaiser von Atlantis at CMU (2023) and Lepido/Silla at Chicago Summer Opera (2021). In Chicago, she also appeared in scenes as Elisetta/Il Matrimonio Segreto and Dorinda/Orlando. Zoe is originally from El Paso, Texas, where she was a 4x recipient of the Texas Music Scholar Award, and performed in the Texas All-State Choir. She is also a recipient of the Max Kade scholarship, which has funded her language studies. Other summer programs include Crittenden Opera in Bethesda, Maryland (2017), and the Honors Performance Series in Sydney, Australia (2019).
