Jorge Vera started his musical journey in his hometown, Pirayú (Paraguay), thanks to a social program named Sonidos de la Tierra, and years later, at the Escuela Musical Miranda. In 2017, he was part of the Youth-Classics Orchestra in Switzerland and the European tour with the baroque orchestra Sonidos de Paraqvaria. Moreover, he was part of several music festivals in South America. Jorge was a prize winner at the First Violin Competition in Paraguay, the Chamber Music Competition Lorenzo Livieres Banks, and the Golden State International Music Competition. His commitment to making music education available to everyone took him to rural areas in the countryside of Paraguay to teach violin for seven years, where he additionally was a conductor of the Orquesta Juvenil Ovetense. Currently, Jorge is studying with Professor William van der Sloot in the Master of Music Performance program at the Carnegie Mellon School of Music.
