Delia Zaleski is a Senior at Carnegie Mellon University pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Flute Performance, studying with Alberto Almarza. During her time at Carnegie Mellon, she has participated in the Philharmonic, Wind Ensemble, Contemporary Ensemble, and several chamber groups. Last year, she won the 2022-2023 Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition and was named the 2023 Presser Scholar. Delia enjoys working with other students and is currently the section coach for the All University Orchestra flute section and has coached the non-major flute ensemble “Flutonium”. Apart from flute, Delia is an avid reader who dabbles in writing and enjoys learning about music history. She was a major contributor for Interlochen Public Radio’s sixth season of Kids Commute and has written for the Carnegie Mellon School of Music’s program notes team. She can also regularly be found caring for houseplants and hiking on the weekends.
