As an avid performer, flutist Evan Curatolo strives to not only convey the beauty and prominence of classical music in the world today, but to also emphasize the importance of deepening one's creative and imaginative mindset through various musical lenses. An orchestral musician at heart, Evan finds himself at home in the orchestra’s flute section and is devoted entirely to conveying the message and importance of orchestral repertoire. Evan will join the New World Symphony as a regular substitute for the 2024-25 season.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Evan has had the unique opportunity to study at some of the world’s finest music conservatories and institutions. Upon completing his Bachelor's Degree, Evan immediately began pursuing his Master of Music in Flute Performance at the Carnegie Mellon School of Music, where has the privilege of studying with one of the most prominent flutists in the world today, Lorna McGhee, Principal Flute of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Previously, Evan pursued and completed his Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance at the esteemed Eastman School of Music, where he studied under the tutelage of world-renowned flutist and pedagogue Bonita Boyd, former Principal Flute of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. At The Eastman School, Evan collaborated on a regular basis with some of the finest musicians and faculty from around the globe as part of the illustrious Eastman Flute Studio. Additionally, he frequently performed with two of the nation’s most acclaimed collegiate ensembles, the Eastman Philharmonia and the Eastman Wind Ensemble.

Prior to his collegiate years, Evan was awarded with numerous awards and achievements, including Illinois All-State Honors, three-time selection for participation in the Music for All Honors Festival of America, as well as multiple solo competition awards and recognitions.
