Isabel Healy is a first-year master's student at Carnegie Mellon University. She studied both viola performance with Tim Deighton and music technology at Penn State University. She is a multi-faceted performer who is interested in 20th century and contemporary music that features live technological involvement, and has composed works using programs such as SuperCollider, MaxMSP, and Pure Data. During her time at Penn State, she was selected to participate in various masterclasses hosted by James Dunham, Stephen Wyrczynski, Tatjana Mead Chamis, and David Harding. Her quartet was also selected to play in masterclasses hosted by Benjamin Beilman, Ian Saunders, and Tom Rosenberg. Her involvement in the school of music propelled her to achieve the position of treasurer and then president of the Penn State Viola Society and vice president of the Arts and Architecture Student Council. She is passionate about creating an innovative space for music of all types and keeping the arts accessible.
