From the unforgettable opening on a wailing clarinet to the jazzy rhythms of piano and orchestra, the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic launches the 2025-2026 season with Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue! The new Jack G. Buncher Chair and Head of the School of Music, Milton Rubén Laufer, a renowned pianist, will take center stage at the piano for this electrifying performance. The Philharmonic will round out the evening with an exciting program of works by American composers.
