Ocean Discovery Camp (Ages 6-8)
Session 1: June 10-14|Session 2: July 8-12
Campers ages six to eight years old will discover what lives in the ocean and why this
watery world is so important to life on Earth. Using the Aquarium as home base, campers will gain
hands-on experience with marine life of all shapes and sizes in, out of, and on the
water. Campers should be prepared to spend a significant amount of time outdoors.
Hours: 9am-12pm | Cost: $140 (non-members)/ $130 (members)
Ocean Adventure Camp (Ages 9-11)
Session 1: June 17-21|Session 2: July 15-19|Session 3: July 29-August 2
Marine-life-loving nine to eleven-year-olds will hate to miss this week of ocean fun! Campers will learn all about marine ecosystems by directly interacting with the many
diverse habitats located along the Treasure Coast. Kayaking on the Indian River Lagoon, seining in
seagrass beds, snorkeling in hardbottom habitats and mucking about in the
mangroves are just a few of the activities awaiting your camper.

Ocean Explorer Camp (Ages 12-13)
Session 1: June 24-28|Session 2: July 22-26
Campers ages twelve and thirteen years old will get a taste of what scientists do to study the
ocean - which means spending time in, on, and under the water. In addition to field trips including
kayaking and snorkeling (equipment provided), campers will experience first-hand some of the tools and
technology used to explore our watery world. Campers should be prepared to spend a significant
amount of time outdoors.

Marine Science Field Experience (Ages 14-16)
Is your teen passionate about the ocean? Students ages fourteen through sixteen are invited to join
Smithsonian educators for a week of hands-on learning about marine ecosystems, careers, research,
and stewardship in and around the Indian River Lagoon and Atlantic Ocean. Participants will spend a
significant amount of time outdoors and should be prepared for physical activities including full-day
kayaking and snorkeling outings. Mask and snorkel are provided, campers must bring fins.
