The mission of the Stanford Center for Clinical Research (SCCR) includes offering educational resources, training, and support for investigators and research staff. We have invited SCCR Clinical Research Manager Sumana Shashidhar, M.Sc, MS, to provide you with an overview of commonly sampled biospecimens in clinical research studies, why they are collected and what downstream information they provide.

About the Instructor:
Sumana Shashidhar, MS, MA, has extensive experience as a research scientist in Industry and academia. Her career at Stanford has spanned over 15 years beginning in the Department of Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) under Dr. Wes Brown, and currently at Stanford Center for Clinical Research (SCCR). Her clinical research experience includes investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored drug and device trials. She is part of the larger SCCR team that helps support and promote clinical research in the Department of Medicine (DoM) and collaboration across the School of Medicine and Stanford University.
